M578(HIJK)’s parent was M3658 (GHIJK) and his sibling was M201(G). “Haplogroup GHIJK is a common Y-chromosome haplogroup. Populations with high proportions of descendant haplogroups were predominant, before the modern era, in males across widely-dispersed areas and populations. These include:

• the Caucasus region (e. g. haplogroup G);
• the Middle East (e. g. haplogroup J);
• South Asia (e. g. haplogroups H, L, and R;
• Europe (e. g. haplogroups I, R and N);
• South East Asia and many Pacific Islands (e. g. haplogroups K, M, N, O, P, S) and;
• many Native American peoples (e. g. haplogroup Q) outside Alaska and Western Canada”
