Albert's mother died when he was born prematurly and he was not expected to live. He was raised on goat's milk by his grand mother "Bebo" and his aunt "Puff." After his Grandfater (Madison Roswell Smith) died and his father (Melbourne Smith) remarried, His father wanted him to live with them but Albert wanted to stay with the only "mother" he had ever known. So he continued to live with Bebo. Albert Smith opened a radio repare shop in Farmington with $1000, an inheritance from his mother. He lost the shop during the depression. Got a letter of recommendation from the local Sherif and hitched rides to California and back to seek his fortune. He found none. |
