  General Notes:

Howard and his wife's (Mary Haydock) brother Gideon Haydock of Smithland, Kentucky, started Haydock (now called Haddox) Ferry of what is now the SKW Allow plant site in Calvert City, Kentucky. [WFT Vol. 4, #448]

The name Kuykendall and the family roots can be traced back to a man named Leuers Van Kuykendall who lived in Gelderland, Holland in the early to mid 1600's. The name became simply Kuykendall after his sons immigrated to New Amsterdam, New York, in the winter of 1646.

Howard married Mary Haydock, daughter of John Haydock and Mary Wright, on 11 Apr 1834 in Calloway County, Kentucky. (Mary Haydock was born in 1798 in Rahway, Middlesex County, New Jersey and died in 1873 in Marshall County, Kentucky.)
