  General Notes:

While she was living with Aunt Molly and Uncle Emory in Austin, Texas, she was hit by a car that was driven by a doctor's daughter. She had a concussion and was in the hospital for several days.

When she was adopted at 7 years of age she had had very little schooling and restarted the first grade with Connie. Her teacher, realizing that she was older and more mature than the other first graders, gave her a book to read and told her that if she could read this book she would be placed in 2nd grade. She did.

Reba married Murrel Duglas McCarty, son of Chester Allen McCarty and Nina Ozell Suttle, on 1 May 1943 in Altus, Oklahoma.
